I almost don't see teaching as a job; it's more like a challenging hobby, one that I'm lucky enough to actually get paid to do. How fortunate am I! Very, in fact, and I'll tell you a little about myself so that you may fully understand why I feel so blessed, fortunate, and lucky (all synonyms, by the way, for my students). I was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida by a loving family full of support, Italian get-togethers (my family is Sicilian) and many furry pets. After finishing my graduate degree at the University of Florida several years ago, I decided that the heat of this southern state had been unbearable for far too long, and my husband and I made the short hike up to Kennesaw, Georgia. Now I know what some of you are thinking...Kennesaw's hot too! The difference, however, is that we actually have seasons here in Acworth and Kennesaw, a wonderful concept I had never known until coming up here. I am blessed with an amazing husband of six years who puts up with my many (and I mean MANY) idiosyncrasies and my beautiful daughter, Jaydin. I love teaching, because I love my students. They are not just daily visitors in my class; they are guests to whom I extend warmth and comfort to, wrapped in a blanket of knowledge and teachings that I only hope they can utilize and enjoy. I plan to continue teaching for many, many years, and to do so would only keep me feeling as blessed and fortunate as I do for the future to come.
