Math 7/8 - Warm-up: Day 69. We will have a warm-up check on days 61 - 70 on Wednesday. Please make sure your warm-ups are up-to-date. We then learned the last part of this unit - proportional segments within parallel lines. Your homework is to make sure the 2 pages from Friday, and one worksheet from today are completed by tomorrow.

Adv. Math 7/Math 7 - Warm-up: Day 69. We will have a warm-up check on days 61 - 70 on Wednesday. Please make sure your warm-ups are up-to-date. We continued working on transformations today. You now have all the notes necessary to complete the packets. You will have all day tomorrow in class to work on the rest of the packet. It is due on Wednesday. Math 7/8 (periods 1, and 6) - Warm-up: Day 67. We then finished the notes on angle relationships and parallel lines cut by a transversal. Your homework is a worksheet, Practice B Lesson 7-2 in the 8th grade (green) textbook. Use the online textbook if needed.

Adv. Math 7/Math 7 (periods 2, 5, and 7) - Warm-up: Day 67. We continued working with Translations today. Please complete the translations page of your packet tonight. We will continue/start working on Reflections tomorrow. The packet is due on Tuesday. Your unit test is next Thursday.

ALL Classes: Warm-up, Day 65. We then took the quiz over the 6 basic constructions. You have no homework. Make sure you have paper and pencils tomorrow, as we will begin Transformation in Math 7/Adv. Math 7, and Parallel Lines cut by a Transversal/Angle Relationships in Math 7/8. Your quizzes will be returned by Thursday.

All Classes: Warm-up Day 64. We took all class period to practice the 6 basic constructions on one paper (like the quiz tomorrow). Please use this sheet along with your OMG in order to study for tomorrow's quiz on the following constructions: copy a line segment, copy an angle, bisect a line segment (perpendicular bisector), bisect an angle, construct perpendicular lines, construct parallel lines through a point not on the line. STUDY!!!

Thank you to the parents and families that joined us last night at CRCT Math Learning Night. I appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to participate in your child's education! Be sure to join Barber teachers again for Science Learning Night (February 9th) and Language Arts and Literacy Learning Night (March 15th).

ALL CLASSES: Warm-up: Day 63. We finally learned the last basic construction (parallel lines through a point not on the line). You have no homework this weekend, but study the OMG foldable, along with the website from yesterday's blog. The quiz will be on Tuesday over the 6 basic constructions we've learned (copying a segment, copying an angle, bisecting a segment (perpendicular bisector), bisecting an angle, constructing perpendicular lines, and constructing parallel lines through a point not on the line).

Come out and join us tonight for Family Learning Night! Try some of the math that your students have learned, or are currently learning. We will start in the theater at 6:30, then we will regroup in the media center in order for you to rotate through different learning stations. If you sign-in, your child will earn 5% bonus points on next week's construction quiz. See you tonight! It will end promptly at 7:30 PM.

As part of the statewide assessment requirements, the Middle Grades Writing Assessment will be administered Wednesday, January 18 from 9:30 – 11:30.  All students in 8^th grade will take part in this assessment, while students in 6^th and 7^th grade will participate in a local writing assessment during this time.  Students should arrive to school on time and come prepared with pencils as well as blue or black ink pens.

All Classes: Warm-up, Day 61. We then took/reworked the quiz on the first two basic constructions (copying a line segment, and copying an angle). FYI: REPORT CARDS WERE SENT HOME TODAY!  Parents, please complete the parent survey in order to help us improve Barber. As always, please sign the cover letter to let us know that you've seen your child's report card.

Please take about 10 minutes this weekend to review these two basic constructions (OMG foldable, or the following website: http://www.mathopenref.com/tocs/constructionstoc.html) as you will be able to rework any missed problems from the quiz on Tuesday.

Periods 6 and 7: If you had 96 or above in all your classes from 2nd quarter, you were allowed to go to the cafeteria from 2:30 - 4:00 for a rewards dance. Those of you who went to the dance will be taking your warm-up check #6 and constructions quiz on Tuesday. You will not be able to rework your quizzes on Wednesday, so make sure that you are ready on Tuesday.

If you did NOT make the incentive reward, then you followed the lesson plan from 1st, 2nd, and 5th above.

All Classes: Warm-up: Day 59. Today we began our basic constructions. You learned how to copy a line segment and how to copy an angle. Because you are not required to have your own compass, you do not have homework. Unfortunately, that means you cannot practice these skills on you own. Don't fear, the internet is here to help!
