About Me

Hi, my name is Mrs. Daniels and I am the 8th grade Spanish Teacher at Barber Middle School. I'm going into my third year at Barber. I am originally from the Republic of Panama. I have worked with the New York City Public School System as a bilingual teacher. I have also taught Spanish in the Fulton County School District. I look forward to meeting and working with the students at Barber Middle School and having a wonderful and successful school year.

HW: Test tomorrow. Study all your notes on prepositions, all your notes on the verbs “querer, tener, necesitar, all your notes on the adjectives cuanto y mucho, all the vocabulary words on page 73 in the textbook all your notes in your workbook and handouts.

 

Spanish 1, 2009-2010 (Friday November 13, 2009)

Today’s agenda:

Warm up: Students will translate these preposition words to English: a la izquierda de, a la  derecha de, delante de, detras de, cerca de,  lejos de, abajo de, debajo de, arriba de, enfrente de, encima de, en, hacia, entre. Then they will choose two preposition words to write a sentence with in Spanish. 

Today we chose en, hacia, y entre  to write our sentence.

Today we will:

1- Be reviewing preposition words. As we take a look into Debora’s room, we will use prepositions words to identify where things are located in her room.

2- Then, students will work with partners to do a room comparison exercise.  They will take turn comparing  the contents of each other’s room using the preposition words.

HW: Test next Tuesday. Study all your notes on prepositions, all your notes on the verbs “querer, tener, necesitar, all your notes on the adjectives cuanto y mucho, all the vocabulary words on page 73 in the textbook, all your notes in your workbook and handouts.

Then, they will choose two preposition words to write a sentence with in Spanish.  

Today we chose  lejos de y enfrente de to write our sentence.

 Today we will:

1-Finish reviewing Monday’s activity.

2-Go over mucho and cuanto activity on page 15 in the workbook.

3-Work with infinitive verbs and expressions with necesitar and querer on page 16 in the workbook.

Then, they will choose two preposition words to write a sentence in Spanish.  Yesterday we chose a la derecha de and abajo de to write our sentence. Today we chose detras de and arriba de to write our sentence.

 Continue working with adjectives cuanto y mucho. We will review the four ways to say cuanto and mucho. Then we will work on writing and speaking activity that focuses on these adjectives.

Today we will:

1-Be working with adjectives cuanto y mucho. We will learn the four ways to ask cuanto and say mucho. Then students will complete a comprehension activity using these adjectives.

 2-Review the answers to the verb “Tener” along with pronouns and nouns in the packet.
