TUESDAY: After completing today's DGP, the students turned in Reading Activity #2. Then we did a large group model of how to read a body paragraph and find EDD. As a class, we determined into which categories supporting sentences best fit--Explain, Develop, or Describe. We put those sentences onto a graphic organizer to have a better understanding of how EDD works.
READING ACTIVITY #3 IS DUE 10/14/11.
WEDNESDAY: After completing today's DGP, the students who did badly on last Friday's quiz will be given a practice sheet of either fragment or run-on work. This will help prepare them for a retake of the quiz this Friday.
Next the students will work in small groups to write supporting sentences that use EDD to fully develop a topic sentence.
