WEDNESDAY: Today the students deconstructed the essays they wrote yesterday to determine what percentage of each sentence type they used. Most discovered the bulk of their writing uses simple sentences. We discussed the importance of using a variety of sentence types to create style in our essays. Tonight for homework the students must create a list of all the simple sentences they used. This is the foundation of tomorrow's revision work.
THURSDAY: The students will revise their simple sentences to create compound and complex sentences and then rewrite their essays.
FRIDAY: Students will read their essays to their peers.
DUE THURSDAY: Reading Activity #3
