TUESDAY: Today the students logged on to an on-line writing site that allows them to type essays and get instant feedback. I encourage the students to use this site often in order to prepare for the January Eighth Grade Writing Assessment. If a student sends me an e-mail notifying me that he or she has completed an essay on Essayscorer.com, I will add my feedback to the essay within 24 hours.

The students selected one of four prompts to respond to today and were required to complete a 500 word narrative in 40 minutes. I will continue to raise the bar as we push towards the writing assessment in January. Students will be required to write under a time limit in order to prepare them for the pressure of writing in the 90 minute time frame of the state writing assessment.
