TUESDAY: After completing the DGP, the students discussed why we would need to write persuasively and how we would do that. They used a framed notes sheet to help them organize notes from a Powerpoint presentation on persuasive writing, and they used these notes to help them analyze a student model of a persuasive essay.

WEDNESDAY: Today some students will work independently while others work in small groups to continue yesterday's analysis of a student essay. They will use a graphic organizer to help them categorize the elements of persuasive writing they find in the student model. If time permits, they will also discuss denotation and connotation.
