On Monday, we will begin our eighth week of school. It's hard to believe that the first grading period is almost over. Please ask your child if he or she is in need of new supplies. Many students are beginning to run short of paper, pencils, and pens. My limited supply of these items will soon run out, and I will no longer be able to give students paper, pencils, and pens on a daily basis.
Additionally, we are going through Kleenex rapidly in the class. I have provided several boxes already this year. On Friday, I had to ask another teacher if she had an extra box of Kleenex for all the sniffly students I had that day. Please consider purchasing a box of Kleenex this weekend and having your child bring it to school.
Finally, with Halloween candy so plentiful in the stores right now, I thought I would also request that you consider sending in a bag of individually wrapped candy that can be used as prizes and rewards in our class. I have found that a big motivator for eighth grade students is the promise of a sweet treat at the end of a particularly successful class period.
Thank you very much for all of your support this year. The students and I appreciate your generosity!
