1st Period,

  Connections Math:

Today we reviewed the Unit 1 test that was in students regular math class. Past work was handed back and asked to be kept in their binders that stay in the classroom. We will be starting on Unit two Square roots.  Nothing was assigned for Homework.

5th and 7th Period 8th Grade Math. Download Lesson06

  Today we started taking notes on Unit two topic One Square roots. M8N1 in our Georgia Performance Standards. Lesson 6 is the power point slide that was used in class today. Homework was sent home where the student needed to complete the number line by using square roots.

Yesterday was great.  We had a day where we had stations students had to run to and answer questions and play games.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and all said that they learned something.  

1st period: 

Tomorrow we have a Quiz that is testing the students on the skills of breaking down a word problem and how to answer it.  This is a skill that they are getting daily reinforcement. The rest of the time will be preparing for the Test in their Math class. They have review sheets for the test.

5th and 7th period:

Students received a study sheet and the answered were reviewed and explained today in class. Students if reviewing that sheet at home should do well.  Test Tomorrow!!

1st Period

  Connections Math class is preparing for the Casino Day where student learn probability through games. Don't worry parent no gambling allowed, just fun. 

3rd and 4th Period: Check Mrs. Carroll's blog.  Study sheets went out for Friday's Test.

5th and 6th Period: Reviewed Homework and classwork.  students were given a packet of work that is due by Friday.  In that packet a Green sheet was given which is a study guide for Friday's Unit test. We will review that sheet on Thursday.  Students will be participating in the Casino Day which is a Game day where student learn probability through Games. No gambling allowed just fun.

1st Period Connections,

    Today we started on Probability. We started taking notes and explaining what probability is.  We have no Homework over the weekend.  So Have a great weekend.

5th and 7th Period 8th Grade math.  

    Today we finished Quiz 2 Unit one Tree Diagrams and Fundamental counting Principle.  Then we started on Notes for Probability.  We have no Homework, so have a great weekend.

1st Period Connections:

    Today students had a new seating arrangement.  We also continued with learning probability. We worked on a worksheet that was a tree diagram and understanding what probability is.  We also reviewed information on to prepare for the Quiz in the students regular math class today. 

3rd and 4th period : Today student took a quiz on tree diagrams and counting principles.  Also some problems were a review of Set Theory. 

5th and 7th Period 8th Grade Math:  Today we took a mock quiz where student were able to review what was expected on the quiz tomorrow.  We went over all of the problems and students took the Mock Quiz home to use as a study sheet.

1st period Connections Math:

   Today we worked on our daily warm-up. Homework was checked and then reviewed.  New lesson was taught which included Tree Diagrams and Probability.  Download Lesson29 . A worksheet was started in class and was to be finished for Homework. Download Page137 . There will be a quiz on Friday relating to all of the warm-ups that were worked on in class over the past week.

5th and 6th period: 

    Today some students finished the Pre-test for Unit One. Then the homework was reviewed along with Introduction of a new worksheet where Fundamental counting principle and and counting principle for addition was introduced and requested to finish for homework.  A quick review will be done tomorrow and a quiz will be given. See you Tomorrow Night.

1st period Connections:  

  Worked on Wardrobe Woes Activity Download Presentation1 (the activity) here. Then we introduced the tree diagrams.  Homework was to create a tree diagram with three shirts (Blue, Red, Black)  4 pair of shorts (Orange, purple, blue, red and Yellow) then 4 pair of shoes (Black, orange, purple and Blue)

5th and 7th 8 Grade math

We discussed the Fundamental Counting Principle and Tree Diagrams and how they are connected. Your homework is to complete the front of the worksheet tonight (5 problems).Download 1-2-tree-diagrams-and-counting-principle (homework). Finish all 5 problems tonight and be ready to ask questions if needed tomorrow. You have a quiz on Tree Diagrams, The Counting Principles and Set Notation on Thursday or Friday (depending on readiness). Continue to study Venn Diagrams and Set Notation. Don't forget them!

Connections Math 1st period

 Today we reviewed for the Set Theory Quiz that will be in the Math class.  Started on Daily warm-ups today. There will be quiz every Friday on the warm-ups . 

Mrs. Carroll's and Mr. Kline's 3rd and 4th period Class.

  Today we had a Quiz on Set Theory.  Students were given time to work on their homework packets before they had to turn them in today.  If they turn them in late tomorrow it will be 50% off.  

Math 8th Grade 5th and 7th period:

Today we had a Quiz on Set theory.  Students had time to work on the Homework packet and turn it in at the end of class.

1st period. Connections Math Class.

We continuted to work on order of operations with our warm-ups.  We also created a study guide wall and reviewed the symboles and shading for Set theory. Monday we will continue to prepare for the quiz in your reqular math class.  If you have any question please ask during this period before your regular math class.

3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th Period:

Wow, the week is over! Today in class, we practiced shading Venn Diagrams. If you missed today's class, or want a copy of the examples we worked on, just download them here: Download Aug-13-in-class-examples Your only homework for this weekend is to continue working on the packet you received today in class. The packet is due on Monday, and your first quiz will be Monday as well. We also learned the specialized set theory notation today, which will be on your quiz.   Continued to work on Set theory.  Started to shade Venn Diagrams based on Set theory notation. Homework was sent Home. A study Guide was created in class for the quiz on Monday. 

7th Period, 8th Grade Math:

Continued to work on Set Theory.  Started to shade Venn Diagrams based on Set theory notation.
