1st Period Connections:

  Today students started on a vocabulary project that is due on Nov 4th, Wednesday.  Students also worked on collecting like terms and distributive property with negatives.  I will be out on Friday and the students were given directions as to what needs to be done. Have a great Halloween.

5th and 7th Period:  8th Grade Math

   Students worked on a matching quiz.  They needed to show their work. If they didn't get finished they took the quiz home to finish it. I will not be here tomorrow but this quiz will be collected. Also work was left and directions were given to the sub.

1st Period Connections. 

   Students worked on their warm-ups and then worked on a worksheet that directed target areas of weakness for the students.  These were collecting like terms and distributing a negative.

5th and 7th Period 8th Grade Math. 

     Students worked on Warm-ups and the unravel strategy. Then students took notes on Multi step equations with Fractions.  No-Homework was given.  They will have a Quiz on Multi-Step Equations tomorrow.

1st period Math Connections:

   Today we worked on our warm-ups.  This is using the unravel strategy. We continued to review Multi-Step equations.  

I use the acronym (People Like Very Cold Soda) It stands for 

(P): first. Parenthesis 

(Like): Like terms on either side of the equations. 

(V): Variable on one side of the equation 

(C): Constance or numbers on the otherside of the equation 

(S) Make the variable single.   

This takes students through the steps of a multi-step equation. 

Students should practices this at home and they can do this through the website:

This is the basis of what we will be doing for the rest of the year.

   Today we finished up on our Haunted Math Mansion.  They were great. No homework.

   We continued to review Onestep equations and started on two step equations.  We had a five question quiz today on linear equations. No Homework this weekend.  If your child needs more help in the area of one step equations please visit www.coolmath.com and click on algebra and onestep equations for practices.

1st Period Connections:

  Students worked on their Haunted Math Mansion.  This is due tomorrow and will be graded in class.  If students didn't get their questions ready to put on the house they should do this at home. Here is the rubric being used. Download Haunted Math Mansion

  Students had homework today.  A worksheet was given and they must complete half the work. 

5th and 7th Period:

    We worked on two step equations. Student had a worksheet given to them and they need to complete the odd or even for homework.

1st period Math Connections:

Student worked on their Haunted Math Mansion Project.  This is due on Friday and they work on this in class. This also is worth a test Grade.

5th and 7th:  Student worked on Combining Ingers along with Multiplying and dividing integers. Student reviewed one step euations from 7th Grade.  They have homework tonight on One Step Equations.

1st Period Connections Math:

  Today we did a review of similar problems from the Unit 2 test.  Also we continued to review the project that is due on Friday.  This project is called Haunted Math Mansion.  It is worth a test project. 

3rd and 4th Period 8th grade Math:

5th and 7th Period 8th Grade Math:

   Today we continued the test that was taken on Friday.  I already had marked the test for incorrect problems. Students had the time to re-work those problems they had gotten wrong.

1st Period Math Connections:

   Today we did a quick review for the math Test in 8th Grade Math.  We took a weekly unravel quiz and we set up for a project next week.  Please have students bring in a black and white poster board for their project. 

3rd and 4th period: Mrs Carroll's class.  Students took a test.

5th and 7th Period: Student Took a unit two B test and 7th period didn't have time to finish.  They will finish on Monday.

Today we worked on Pythagorean Theorem. Using the theorem on a worksheet.

Today we are working on using the Pythagorean Theorem. We will be reviewing the study guide that was given to the students on Monday.  Remember Friday is Unit Two Test Day.
