1st period Math Connections. 

   Today students reviewed their study guide for the continuation of their Unit 3 Test.  Due to extended time students complete their test today.   If a student were absent they must schedule time with me.

3rd and 4th period:

5th and 7th period: 

 Due to extended time students complete their Unit 3 test from Friday today.   If a student were absent they must schedule time with me.

This weeks Schedule:

      Monday: Finish Test ( No Homework)

      Tuesday: Take notes on Relation and Function.

    Wednesday:  Spaghetti Test on Function or not a function. 

    Thursday: Functions Quiz!

    Friday notes on Linear equations.

  Students worked on Solving Absolute Value inequalities and Compound Inequalities.  This lesson was to help students get ready for their Unit Three Test in Math.  This is on Friday!!  All Students have a study guide.

1st Period Math Connections:

   Today students were given their progress Reports.  So expect them home today.  Students continued to work on skills tutor and received a class participation grade.  Tomorrow we will be helping them prepare for their Unit 3 Math Test on Friday.  This is extremely important for their grade and they need to study.  They have a green Study guide. Download Unit 3 review sheet

5th and 7th Period: 

     Today students were given their progress Reports.  So expect them home today. Not all of the grades were very good.  One class I had three students work on Homework.  I will be calling home to express the need to check the blog if possible.  Today we worked on the study Guide and completed problems 1-13 on the front side.  Students need to work on the back side and we will complete them in class tomorrow.

1st Period Math Connections:

   Today most students worked on Skills Tutor.  This is a computer program that your children can use from home.  This help work on basic skills for Algebra.  IF they answer a question incorrectly the program will help them re answer the question and tell them how to work the problem out correctly.  This is immediate feed back for students which can not always happen in a classroom setting. The website is:  www.myskillstutor.com The students Login is their First and then last name with no space between.  They have their own password and the site is : barber02.  Then I helped students one on one with math homework from yesterdays math class on absolute value inequalities.

5th and 7th Period:  8th Grade amth

    We took notes on compound inequalities using "and" and "or".  We also worked on compound inequalities with no word between. They have a worksheet that we started in class and needs to be completed at home.  Students also received a study guide for Unit 3 Test on Friday.  They should be working on completing the study guide for Thursday and it will be reviewed.

1st Period Math Connections:

     Today students finished their warm-up sheets for the week.  They were graded and handed back. The students then worked on skills tutor.  This is a computer program to find skills that the students are weak in and help re-teach those skills.

5th and 7th Period math:  

     Students took notes on solving inequalities. (Download Multistep Inequalities) THen they worked out a few problems with inequalities in class.  They were given 5 problems to complete for homework and they had time in class to work on it. 

Reminder There will be a Unit 3 Test on Friday before Thanksgiving Break! Study guide will be given on Monday.

   Today students took a quiz.  It consisted of three literal equations and three absolute value equations.  After the quiz we worked on note for graphing inequalities.

1st period Connections Math: Today students worked on understanding Absolute Value equations. No Homework. 3rd and 4th period math Class: Please check Mrs. Carroll's Blog. 5th and 7th Period: Students worked in groups to solve multi step absolute value equations. If they didn't finish they had homework to finish the worksheet.

1st Period Connections:  

  Students today worked on the unravel strategy  for their warm-ups.  They are using the CRCT prep workbooks and working on a problem a day.  This will help them break down math problems and correctly solve them.  Student worked on Multi-Step equations by using a acronym (People Like Very Cold Soda's)  This help student on the M8N1 Standard in 8th Grade Math.  

3rd and 4th period:  Please refer to Mrs. Carroll's Blog. 

5th and 7th period:  8th Grade Math.

      Students were given a Absolute value equation as a warm-up today on the board.  They were required to solve.  Then they were given a worksheet with absolute value problems on the sheet.  They were given examples of the different situation they would encounter on the sheet.  they were asked to work quietly on their own to solve the problems for 15 min.  They could ask the teacher for help during this time.  Then they were paired up with partners to finish the worksheet.  Then they were given the answers to the problems to check themselves.  Any work not finished was expected to be done for homework.  What is being graded is the step to find the solution to each problem.

1st period connections:

  Today we finished up our weekly warm-ups.  Students worked on Multi-step equations as review and they received one on one help for current homework.

5th and 7th Period:

  Today I collected the weekly warm-up sheets and students take home quiz.  We started notes on absolute value and they have two homework problems.
