HW--Finish your two paragraph writing assignment describing how Canada's location, climate, and natural resources affect where people live and how it impacts trade.  DUE TOMORROW

Our Curriculum(GPS) focus this week:  SS6G6:  The student will explain the impact of location, climate, distribution of natural resources, and population distribution in Canada.

DESCRIBE how Canada's location, climate, and natural resources have affected where people live.

DESCRIBE how Canada's location, climate, and natural resources impact trade.

SS6G7:  The student will discuss environmental issues in Canada.

EXPLAIN the major environmental concerns of Canada regarding acid rain and pollution of the Great Lakes, the extraction and use of natural resources on the Canadian Shield, and timber resources.

Today's Warm Up: 

If Canada has abundant natural resources and a rich geography then there are certainly going to be some environmental issues.  What environmental issues do you think will occur with:  The Great Lakes, abundance of minerals in the Canadian shield, large industrial cities, and vast (large) forests?  Make PREDICTIONS.
