Ms. Morrison

Mrs. Jennifer Morrison is a 6th grade science teacher at Barber. She is beginning her 11th year of teaching this year. Mrs. Morrison is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Secondary Science Education. She received her Master's degree in the same field from the University of West Georgia in 2005. Mrs. Morrison is a huge University of Georgia football fan and enjoys watching and playing many sports. GO DAWGS! 6th GRADE ROCKS!

Ms. Rains

I have a passion for learning and hope that it is contagious in our classroom! I love to interact with other people, be outside enjoying nature and sports, read current events and historical fiction, and travel... so teaching Reading and World Studies is a perfect fit for me. I believe that every learner can be a shining S.T.A.R. What does that mean? S.T.A.R. is an acronym for Scholar, Thinker, Achiever, and Risk-taker. Just ask my husband and three children whom I also challenge to be S.T.A.R.'s! A goal I have set for myself is to visit as many countries in the continents I teach as I can. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal but it is fun to look forward. I hope to give students an engaging, real world, and thought-provoking classroom where our goal is to be S.T.A.R.'s!

Ms. Rhyant

Mrs. Anjulia Rhyant is teaching Advanced Content Social Studies in seventh and eighth grades at Barber Middle School. She has 10 years of experience in the field of education. Her alma maters are the University of Dayton (B.S.) and University of Georgia (Masters degree) GO DAWGS!!!. She is a native of Georgia but lived in Indiana where she taught for a period of 4 years . She wears many hats including being a wife and mother of two boys. Mrs. Rhyant has a strong passion for teaching and considers herself a learner for life. She is looking forward to an exciting year with her new students as they travel across the world and throughout Georgia.

Ms. Sanford

Betsy Sanford is a 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science teacher at Barber Middle School, Cobb County School District, Acworth, Georgia. She has been in the field of education for ten years. Mrs. Sanford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama as well as a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition, she is a Teacher Support Specialist and maintains the Gifted Endorsement. She is certified in the areas of preschool through eighth grade in science, social studies, math, and language arts. She is a participant in the Georgia Math Science Education Partnership sponsored by Kennesaw State University and Cobb County School District. Mrs. Sanford is excited to be working with the wonderful faculty and students at our school and is looking forward to a great new year!

Ms. Tolbert

Mrs. Tolbert has been teaching middle school for 22 years and loves middle schoolers still. She enjoys quilting with her friends, hiking with her husband, playing with the neighbor kids, gardening, and cooking on the weekends. This year she is teaching 6th grade math though she has taught most of the subjects in her past schools. Barber, a school she helped open, is by far the best school around.

Ms. Washington

Mrs. Washington is the 7th and 8th grade Advanced Content Language Arts teacher at Barber Middle School. She has been teaching on the middle school level for a total of eighteen years. This is her eleventh year with Cobb County schools. Since teaching in Cobb County, Mrs. Washington has taught 7th grade Language Arts for the past ten years with the last four involving Advanced Content Language Arts. She is married with two daughters, 21 and 18. One daughter, Kristine, is currently a senior at Kennesaw State University, and the other daughter, Brittany, is currently a freshman at Kennesaw State University.nesaw State University, and the other daughter is currently a senior at North Cobb High School.
